Casio G-Shock Rangeman GW9400
I kept hearing the calling of another G-Shock. After, reading some of the comments by some of the other forum members, I decided on the G-Shock Rangeman GW9400.
It had several features I found desirable. The "Triple Sensor" technology that the watch has contains an Altimeter, Barometer, Compass, and a thermometer. I especially liked that the big button at the three o’clock position, which cycled through all four without accessing the time or other functions. A friend of mine took his Bimmer over the Grapevine to Bakersfield. I kept looking at my watch and he finally asked me what I was doing. I told him I was comparing the compass on the watch to the compass on the rear view mirror. The watch matched the cars compass consistently. I also like the sunrise/sunset feature. You can set it by your location. I am about an hour north of LAX, so it was easy for me to set. It will also do it manually from your latitude. The stopwatch now measures up to about 1000 hours and the watch is water resistant to 200 meters. I was a little worried about the size. It is 53.5mm X 18.2, but only weighs 93 grams. It fits under some long sleeve shirts and strains the cuffs with others. I forgot I was wearing it with short sleeves. I doubt I would notice it if I had a flannel shirt on. It has the solar and atomic (with six places to grab the time from) features, which is an added bonus. I also like the Rangeman Mascot on the back of the watch. It gives it character. This watch is definitely worth keeping!
