Should I change 1665 end links to 585's?
I have a 1978 5.7m Mk1 Great White 1665 Sea Dweller which currently has 580 end links fitted to it which I believe it originally came with, previously I owned a 1981 1665 which had 585 end links. I'm about to buy a new 93150 bracelet for the 1978 Mk1 so have the option to specify to Rolex 585 end links - should I go for 585's?
I know some 1665's (especially early Mk1 Great White's) were supplied from new with 580 end links but would the 585's be more appropriate for a 1665? There is no cost difference as Rolex have quoted me the same price for the bracelet with either choice of end link. I've heard people say that the 585's are a better fit for the fatter case of 1665 but I can't see anything wrong with the fit of the current 580's (and I'm fussy!). Thoughts and opinions welcome ..... |
