Hi all,
I got the watch bug about a year ago, I've always had an addictive nature and once something is in my mind I have to have it. I caught the Rolex bug probably 2 months ago, and initially wanted a white face Daytona, but after trying it on I just found the Daytona too dainty for my style. I was then torn between a DSSD, GMTBLNR, SD or a Sub ND. After trying on the DSSD I knew that was out the window, just far too bulky even though I do like a larger watch. I wanted a GMT movement, no cyclops, and a Sub bracelet, and found it really hard to decide. The SD4000 was a good middle ground but I just couldn't justify the cost over a SubND as I'm no diver anyway. That left GMT (BLNR) and Sub, and I must have tried them both on a hundred times, I still love the look of the GMT and the complication would be very useful, but I just couldn't live with the PCLs and lack of glidelock, so in the end that swung it for me. Additionally, I'm very rarely dressed smart, so for me a Sub just looks better on the wrist. Now I have it I love it, and look forward to putting it on every day and miss it even when I've gone to the gym, very strange! I wear it every day and am very happy with my purchase, I think I've got the Rolex bug! A few pics of my experience at the AD :) |
