Sentimental value
Hi all,
RE - Rado Diastar Automatic 12361221 (also has this number on the back 56500673. Circa 90s - I think) I have had the below rado diastar automatic for atleast the last 15 years. It holds great sentimental value to me as it was a gift from my nan. I know she purchased this in the middle east back in the late 90s for me and I have worn it day in day out for years. This was my only watch growing up and I have taken great care of it. Funny thing is I know nothing about the watch, I know it is not worth a great lot of money but since buying my first rolex early this year I started to think to my self hang on a minute this watch might actually need a service lol. Please excuse my ignorance but I have only recently become a watch guy and your thoughts would be greatly appreciated. It says automatic on the watch and I know if I do not wear it for a day or so it stops functioning. This is I am not even sure if its a mechanical watch as it doesnt have to be wound (I just set the time and wear it). Since I bought my rolex I had stopped wearing all of my watches except for this rado, I guess there is none like your first, and for that reason (getting to the point lol) have you ever seen this watch before and what do you know about it. Any service info would be greatly appreciated. Reason I ask is because I do not want this watch to die on me also it says water sealed on the back but does not say how deep - does anyone know how water proof this watch is. 1 last thing, are those real diamonds in the dial? Thanks more pics will follow shortly |
