TRF Has Always Been About Knowledge, Friendship, and Paying it Forward
TRF has always been about knowledge and friendship. Many people have helped the newcomers (this includes me) out with knowledge and support. The established members have always helped newcomers and each other.
Even though I was not here when JJ was, I can still appreciate him and his comments, as well as others that are still around. A big part of this site is paying it forward. For my Three Thousandth Post, I wish to pay it forward. I tried to figure how this would work and came up with this idea. Rolex is all about innovation, so here is my thought. I will give out four items for the first four innovations of Rolex taken from Wikipedia. Among the company's innovations are: • The first waterproof wristwatch "Oyster", 1926 • The first wristwatch with an automatically changing date on the dial (Rolex Datejust ref.4467, 1945) • The first wristwatch case waterproof to 100 m (330 ft) (Rolex Oyster Perpetual Submariner ref.6204, 1953) • The first wristwatch to show two time zones at once (Rolex GMT Master ref.6542, 1954) Post 26, for the year 1926, shall receive the 2012-13 Rolex Catalogue. Post 45, for the year 1945, shall receive the Rolex Magazine, Issue 03, The Skydweller. Post 53, for the year 1953, shall receive the Rolex Travel Bag and Polishing Cloth I received when I picked up my Submariner from the RSC Beverly Hills. Post 54, for the year 1954, will receive a 2014 Rolex Catalog My initial post does not count A few details: If a number is not reached, that prize will not be given out. I do not think that will be an issue. Please, do not double post until after post 55. That will make it easier to make sure the right person receives their item. I do not wish to try and figure out what the shipping cost will be to a foreign country. If you wish to join the thread, all I ask is you figure out the shipping to my zip code and send the stamps. I will send the item. If you are in the United States, I will take care of the shipping.
