Possible first Rolex purchase question - used dual-tone Sub

I should preface this by asking you to forgive me if I sound a bit ignorant to the Rolex ways.

I came across what seems to be a near-mint dual-tone, blue dial Submariner in a local pawn shop. That usually would not be my go to place to purchase a watch, but it did catch my eye.

I'm (again) admittedly ignorant, particularly on model numbers. But the owner, who did not seem to be an expert, said that it was likely manufactured between 2001-2002. No box, no records and no indication of when it was last serviced.

Here's my question...if it can be answered with those limited details. It was marked at $6,900 and I was able to get them down to $5,800...and may be able to knock another couple hundred off. Given what I've been able to find on eBay and other websites, that seems like a pretty good deal.
