1803 Day-Date Pie Pan Dial Made in Early 80s??

Hi,

I'm looking to purchase this 1803 pie pan dial Day-Date, but the serial number is in the 7 millions, which puts the case at 1981-1982. Did they make pie-pan dials up until the early 80s? I'm scared that an older dial was put into a newer case. The bracelet, clasp, and plastic crystal seems to be period correct though.
