Day-Date (nice) Dilema,your Thoughts & Advise Welcome
Hi All
Think i Have finally decided to buy a day-date in yellow gold or rose (everose) gold. Main reasons are i had one stolen some years ago & never got round to replacing it & hoped Rolex or an AD might of had it in for a service !,finding my watch, alas after 6 yrs don't think that will happen now, I do miss a nice watch. Another reason is i would like to have something that holds it's value,so can pass onto my son, when i eventually croak it.(51 yrs old, now). Yes, i would like one as a keeper. Iam now in a fortunate position without being too silly to buy a DD,although cannot justify buying from an AD,& buying new from an AD does not bother me,as soon as i walk out of the door the value drops amazingly, with or without a discount. So to my point. Pre-owned: Do i go for a 2000 yr plus model at 10-11+ k or do i go that extra few 1000 & go for a 2014 / 2015 'worn once' or 'unworn' ?. I'm thinking buy Pre-owned from Europe due to exchange rate euro against £ saving a further 1k or so. I understand owning a Rolex is in the pride of ownership & something to be admired & respected, although would like my son to have something of value in years to come. Your thoughts ,advise experiences would be appreciated. Cheers Andrew. |
