About to Buy DSSD - Need Clarification! Glidelock & Divers Ext
Hello,
I have searched & searched for days - and this is driving me crazy!! I would like some clarification please! I know exactly WHAT each item is and where it is (Glidelock in clasp, Divers Extension closest to clasp on 12oclock side of watch)! However, I'm extremely confused about the purpose of each? It seems to me they are two items, with exactly the same function, for exactly the same purpose! How incredibly odd!!! Why not one OR the other, Rolex? About the Divers Extension, from my knowledge: I always was under the impression that the folding Divers Extension, which some people remove & replace with one or two links instead - served the purpose of allowing you to make the bracelet larger, and slip it on over your wetsuit, on the fly? No tools are needed to "open" the Divers Extension, it can be done on the fly (i.e. before you dive) and "reset" or adjusted back to "normal/everyday" (i.e. CLOSED position) after you are finished diving. In essence, a VERY easy way to slip the watch over your wet suit, then return it to the EXACT size/bracelet condition as before your days' adventure. However, as I said, I am now VERY confused! Here is some material taken directly from the Rolex website. About the Glidelock: Rolex Glidelock extension system Feature of the Rolex Deepsea The patented Rolex Glidelock extension system allows divers to adjust the length of the bracelet for a secure and comfortable fit over a diving suit, without using any tools. A robust toothed panel under the clasp cover provides an extension of up to 20 mm in 2 mm increments. Rolex Glidelock ro • lex • glide • lock An exclusive, easy-to-operate bracelet extension system for divers’ watches, patented by Rolex.Enables a fine adjustment of the bracelet of up to 20 mm in 2 mm increments, without the aid of tools.Allows the watch to be worn over a 3 mm diving suit.Seamlessly integrated into the clasp to combine reliability, aesthetics and comfort.Designed for professionals, useful for all.The Rolex Way. Aren't those the EXACT same functions/features/benefits of the Divers Extension??????? So what am I missing here?
