About a week ago I decided that I wanted to add something classic and "old" to compliment my 116618. I started off thinking about the 16618 but was persuaded towards a 16808. I decided that if the purpose was to get something different, go as different and original as possible. So why not get the one that started it all? This reference commands a premium in comparison to the 16618s but once I saw the dial, I knew this was the one! I could not be happier with the purchase (thanks Maron!) and lucked out on a complete set (box, papers, anchor, tags, etc.).
