Getting my first Rolex.... SD or Sub date

Well i am pretty excited as i am about to pull the trigger on my very first Rolex.Question is which one.Tossing up between the Sea Dweller and the Sub date.

I wear a suit to work everyday and yes,i have tried both own and they both smile at me.I love the thickness and heft of the Sea dweller and can get one at msrp while they last. And obviously the SD will be canned so do i get one BNIB while i can.

But i have always thought that the sub date is the quintessential Rolex and this should be my first Rolex.Plus it will sit a bit better with a suit.Having said that i am not a huge fan of the cyclops but could live with it.

What do you think ?? I know its a win/win situation but jst want to get the right one.

Today week i am going into hospital for some back surgery so this will cheer me up a bit (a lot).
