Rolex diamond dial authentication

Hello,
I recently purchased a Rolex 1503 ford dealers award watch. The diamond dial is meant to be original and many of these watches have genuine diamond dials. Looking at my watch the diamond setting does not appear to be done to a high standard and the diamonds looks as if they have been set with silver and with the dial being gold I presumed this would also be gold. Can anyone tell me if this dial appears to be original?
