Greetings TRF!!! Please help a newbie?
Hello everyone!
My name is CJ, and I'm pretty brand new to the Rolex game. I have been trying to do my best with research, and am very close to my first ever Rolex purchase! I have a few questions, and am hoping to hear a few opinions and advice. The model I am considering is the Date Just from 2003, with Fluted Bezel, Oyster Bracelet, Black "Sunburst" Dial, with Roman Numerals, Two-tone silver and gold. I have attached a picture (i apologize if the quality is not great). I found this watch at a Tourneau location. It is a certified pre-owned model (no box or papers). I was told it will come with a 2 year warranty from Tourneau, and if I need service thereafter, it is treated just as any other watch purchaser, which I am okay with. I was told that the Sunburst dial option is no longer available with a Black dial/Roman Numeral Combo. This is why this specific model interests me so much, as this is the combo I have fallen in love with. It has the Oyster bracelet, which I am okay with, but would prefer to have the Jubilee two-tone bracelet instead. I was told that it is possible to switch it out, but it would be very costly, and that I would have to get it done at a third party that is willing to do it, which is something I am not to familiar with. The cost of the model is $8175 USD. After researching and speaking with a representative at a Rolex retail store, I was told that 2003 was around the time there was a conversion of sorts with specific parts of each model. Here are my questions: - In your opinions, is this a good deal for a certified pre-owned model? - I am in love with this combo. How difficult would it be to find this exact same model in good condition, being that it is from 2003? - Would it be recommended to swap the bracelet for a Jubilee? or is it really too costly? Any help or advice would GREATLY be appreciated. I am open to hear anything and everything, as I am still learning so much about these beloved masterpieces. Thanks so much for all your help in advanced!!! |
