Cant decide between two rolexes
My first Rolex was a GMT Master II, with red/black bezel. Wonderful watch. Very versatile...wear it anywhere, with anything. Useful, too. The date and GMT complications are quite handy. All things considered, it would be on the short list of "if I only had one watch it would be____".
Were I in the market for a new, current production GMT today, it would be the BLNR. My only complaint is the shape of the case/lugs. I prefer the more tapered look of the older model. A very subjective consideration. A couple of years ago, I bought the Daytona. Stainless steel, with white dial. Gorgeous watch. Comfortable. It is both sporty and dressy. My one complaint is the legibility of the subdials. This limits the usefulness of the otherwise excellent chronograph function. In the right lighting conditions, as when it's overcast, the chronograph is quite legible. In sunny weather, it's very hard to read the subdials. The white dial contributes to this, as it reflects light. Perhaps the black dial would fare better. I don't know. Both great watches. The Daytona, though, would not be on my "if I only had one" list. I'm glad to own it, it's a stunning piece, but forced to choose between it and the GMT, the GMT would win. It's just a more practical tool for me. There is no right/wrong answer here. It's subjective and based in your circumstances. My advice? Try them both on and listen for your intuitive reaction. Go with your heart, not your head. I've found that when I do, my satisfaction is long lasting. Enjoy this "problem"--a good one to have! Good luck! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |
