Greetings from Ohio!
Hello from Buckeye Country! (Yes the Browns are here also).
I have been reading the forum content for quite a while, so I thought it was time to join and perhaps contribute to the conversation...though I am certainly a novice. I got my first real watch on September 7, 2011. It was a Rolex Explorer which I had saved for and attempted to purchase in 2010. Unfortunately (as I understand it) a Japanese baseball player wore an Explorer in an interview that year, and this resulted in most of the world's Explorers being shipped to Japan over the next 12 months. In any case, mine finally became available during that fateful month in 2011. I wore it the following week as a World Trade Center Responder. It is a watch that I have bonded with for both emotional and practical reasons....and probably the standard by which I judge other watches. I love its elegant, solid, simplicity. About a year ago, I started collecting some other pieces, including a Ball and a Breitling. I guess I have been bitten by the collecting bug...though I will only collect watches that I actually enjoy wearing. I look forward to learning from all of the forum members. Cheers! |
