is $11K good for a 84-99 WG Day Date?
It has the president bracelet, roman numerals, white face, fluted bezel. From a private collection, mint condition, still in box.
I have never owned a Rolex, this would be my first. I see the yellow gold Day Dates are very easily had for less, and they definitely get more attention..but Im not sure thats my style. I like to fly in style, but under the radar. I think a WG Day Date is right up my alley. I have always been a big watch fan, and I looked back at all the money I had spent on other lower-quality (and cost) watches, and I thought to myself: "I could have had a Day Date, or almost paid off one at least" So 3 years ago I stopped buying watches, and got rid of them all...Ive been watchless for around 3 years so I think it is about time. That is a LONG time for a watch nut to go without a watch...especially if you are really busy. My birthdays soon anyways! :) I have asked the seller to remove the band and get the serial # for me, and he is supposed to get back to me with the actual model #. It looks to be an 18239. It does look extremely well kept. I just want to make sure I am getting the best deal I can, I wouldnt want to find out later that I had overpaid. I did see another one, mint, same everything, for $12k..with a "lifetime warranty" which I am assuming isnt worth the paper it is printed on lol. Ive never had good luck with warranties being honored. If anyone can recommend a good place to get a WG Day Date with the president band...that DOES have a decent usable warranty...Im open to suggestions. I saw Beckertime, which DOES have a lifetime trade-up guarantee..but everything there seems so overpriced, Its not even worth it. Or is it just me? thanks! :) |
