First Rolex, Explorer II Polar, Running fast...need advice pls.
I purchased a 2011 Explorer II White Dial 16570 from topnotchwatch.com two weeks ago. Spoke on the phone with the owner prior to purchase and ending up making a deal on my first Rolex.
I love it, its beautiful, however I do have concerns. When I received it, I inspected it and came across the tiniest chip right of the edge of the crystal. It is so small, it actually took me 2 days to determine if it was actually a chip or not. So, i texted the owner, he said he will be glad to replace the crystal for me at the next service. I forgot to mention that I have a written 2 year warranty that came with the watch. Now on to my question...my daily wear for the last 4 years has been two different Tag Heuer Aquaracers which both ran +8 secs/day. I really expected the Rolex to do better than my Tag but it actually does not much to my surprise. I set it with time.gov and double checked with a radio controlled clock i have and it. I observed it after 24hrs to be +11 seconds and after 45 hrs its +20 seconds. Should I call in the warranty and send it back, or does anyone know of a good watchmaker in San Antonio/Austin who can check it out?
