What's with this "Character" BS?

Okay guys,

I've read several posts where guys come up with "these scratches I've acquired over the years, have given my watch 'character' " or "my first scratch - new character to my watch"!!

What a load of hogwash!! What the hell have scratches and dents in a beautiful acquisition got to do anything with "character"? I thought "character" was associated with a person and his personal self - not bloody scratches on a beautiful watch!!

So, as far as I'm concerned, "character" has absolutely nothing to do with any kind of damage to any of my Rollies. For starters, I would go truly ballistic if any of my watches sustained a truly visible scratch and the last thing on earth I would ever consider that to be is friggin' CHARACTER!!!

Okay, rant over!

JJ
