Yes the Daytona has a ton of hype as of today, but for day in/day out use, the GMT-Master II is still the king. I also work in a hospital and find my BLNR on my wrist moreso than any other watch I own. My Explorer II is now my weekend watch as my weekends are a little more casual.

As far as the Explorer, don't let anyone talk you out of it. While it might be the most plain of the three you mentioned, it is also the most classic. Guys who wear Explorers (in any reference number) know what they are doing. I owned one for a bit and had to let it go to free up some cash. It's a beautiful reference and Rolex made some great changes to the overall look. At first, the Daytona and the BLNR might overshadow the Explorer but as you get used to owning these three wonderful pieces you might find that the versatile nature of the Explorer makes it an easy choice for any situation.
This. Well said. I admire my BLNR each day since I got it 6 months ago. Sold my SS 116520.

Already paid deposit for new SS Daytona-C white dial and can't wait.
