Alaska Cruise Recap....
Last month Pam and I went up the inside passage on a 90,000ton Cruise ship to visit the frozen north of Alaska..
After a few days of eating everything we could, every other hour for a few days, we arrived at Juneau, the State capital and took a short drive to Mendenhall Glacier.. Spectacular....We're a few miles away and the face is 20 stories tall: The snow melt was running off the mountain next to the glaciar bring a fast, wide, and very cold waterfall: Back on board again, we cruised up the Tracy Arm Fjord, past plenty of ice bergs. Finally arriving at Sawyer Glacier...This Fjord is a one ship path....While there the only way out was to turn the ship 360 degrees in place. Spectacular views: We also took an exciting train ride on the original White Pass and Yukon Railroad that covers 20 miles between Skagway Alaska and through to the Yukon Territory, a path the early gold miners took on foot> This train climbed at maximun grade and took us up 7,999 ft. to this rickety wood bridge and into the mountain.. This trip is on my recommend list..........
