CASE & BRACELET

The case and bracelet of this fantastic early production 1970' Rolex 1680 have been tastefully polished by Rolex during one of the service intervals. The polishing by Rolex is not typically overdone as is the case typically seen in other timepieces that are not serviced by Rolex. The Lugs are still fat and retain original sharp shape. The correct Rolex 9315 folded link bracelet comes complete with the original Rolex 280 end links that are specific to this era of Red Submariner 1680. This 1680 also retains the original and at the time newly released Trip-Lock crown with accompanying correct bezel insert. The insert is missing the tritium pear at the triangle which is common for watches of this vintage.

DIAL & HANDS

The dial of this early production red 16180 is fantastic condition showing wonderful warm original Tritium lume which has aged to warm creamy color, the hands of this 1680 are also matching and original to this timepiece. When exposed to UV light the lume does glow intensely then immediately fades which is common for 1680's of this era. The dial does posses a small blemish above the 2:00 marker where the dial meets the inner retaining ring or "Rehaut" which can only bee seen with a loupe. This Blemish was most likely caused when the rehaut was removed from the dial during one of the service intervals. These specific element has been highlighted in the photographs of the watch.
