I agree that if hollow links bother you, then you probably won't be happy with the 168000.
Consider, though, that the 14060M which was in production until 2011 had hollow links and also consider how many pre-six-digit Subs are still on the wrists of satisfied Rolex owners worldwide. You might also consider that there's still a lot of people walking the earth for whom there are no birth-year Subs, so you might count yourself lucky that you actually have one out there waiting for you to make up your mind.
