Rolex Yacht Master 29mm & 35mm questions
I am looking to buy a yacht master (platinum dial) for my wife in either the 29mm (don't know the model number because it is apparently discontinued) or 35mm (168622) and I had her try on one of each at rolex AD's in london this afternoon.
These watches were both "new", and at major rolex AD's , not grey sellers, but were clearly older models. So my question is less about "what kind of discount i can expect" and more about trying to figure out how long they have been sitting there unsold as leverage in a negotiation. Questions are as follows: #1. As far as I know the 29mm was discontinued somewhere around 2012/2013? Is that correct? I figure if that is the case, and they have not been able to move it in at least 4 years there is going to be some wiggle room there. #2 On the 35mm i thought i noticed (although not 100% sure) it did not have the easy link extension on the clasp but had the older style (the one with the holes on each side of the clasp). So when was the easy link introduced on the 35mm yacht master as I know it standard on the new ones. Again, I am trying to figure out how long it has been sitting there unsold. Thanks |
