AD lied, Daytona C madness...
I made a visit to the AD I have spent the most amount of money with and put myself on the waiting list for the Daytona C in black. When I spoke with my sales associate, I was promised that I was number one. I made sure she double checked with her manager and any other sales associate so that there was no confusion. I have purchased about 8 PM pieces in the last 12 months including two PPs, so I'm definitely one of their best, if not favorite clients.
I was told that I did not need to put down a deposit, but I put down $1k because I felt that putting down money solidified our "agreement." The agreement was that I would get the first black dial Daytona C to arrive at the store, with the option to buy a white dial if that came first. I've seen all of these incomings the last couple of weeks and have not heard from them and started to get a little suspicious. So Saturday morning as I was waiting for a friend at breakfast, I noticed the guy at the table next to me was wearing a black dial Daytona C, and he had a bag from my AD at the table! I asked him about the piece and after a couple minutes of chatting, he revealed that he had indeed purchased it from them!!! He showed me his warranty card and yep, their store name was on it! I called the store on Monday to ask about the status of my watch and they said "We are still waiting to receive the first one." I'm mixed with emotions right now and not sure what I should do. Part of me is turned off from this whole deal and the other part feels like a long standing business relationship is done. The other part of me feels this is just a watch and there are much more important things in life, get over it lol. |
