will rolex touch a watch with non genuine parts?
here is an unusual question for you guys, ive got a 16600 seadweller with a submariner dial in it(the original dial was damaged when the crystal was broken and replaced by the previous owner.)
I have contacted the local RSC in regards to changing the dial and there is no problem in them supplying and fitting(along with a compulsory service) Now the annoyance is that this watch was not purchased new and is not under warranty which in my eyes means i own every part of it and they dont have any claim to any part of it..... ive been informed that the will keep the submarinier dial once replaced which i was hoping to sell to recoupe some of the outlay for the new dial and service. Now my question:(puts flame suit on) what if i put a aftermarket dial in it for the purpose of them to take out and dispose of.. would they still do the dial swap and service? Dont get me wrong i am in no way shape or form endorsing altering a watch with non-original parts... to the contrary i am a stickler for keeping things original hence wanting the original dial refitted it would only be put in so they have a dial to dispose of allowing me to keep the genuine sub dial.... im concerned that i go to the trouble of fitting an aftermarket dial and they turn me away and refuse to touch it.... anyone have any experience with this or am i just trying to hard to fight the RSC system on the grounds that i dont believe they have the right to keep whats theoretically owned by me?
