Finding 2nd Rolex in Tokyo
I owned a DJ 36 with jubilee bracelet for 7 years and looking for a sport version with oyster bracelet for a more casual look. I narrowed my search to the BLNR and the 116610LV. My local AD in Brunei had one LV (back in early June) that I tried on but no BLNR for me to compare thus left the AD empty handed.
Went to Singapore in mid-June and continue my search and almost all ADs had no BLNR nor the 116610LV on offer; a few offering them at a premium price of US$10,400! Went to one importer and both were available at US$8,880 cash deal only. Since I wanted to pay by card so no deal... Now I am in Tokyo and had been looking for a BLNR for the past 8 days but all ADs I went to had nothing to offer too. Went to Quack (at Shinjiuku), Jack Road and Kame-Kichi (both at Nakano) and Jack Road offers the best price at 888,889 Yen / US$8,258 (no credit card surcharge) but the last unit was reserved! Kame-Kichi offered their BLNR at US$8,850 with credit card surcharged inclusive. Quack's pricing is the highest of all at US$9,300. Since I did not read much about Kame-Kichi in this forum thus I did not buy the BLNR from them. Half-expected to leave Tokyo without a new Rolex and wait for my local AD's monthly shipment of either BLNR or LV (both at US$8,750 after discount). Leaving Tokyo tomorrow evening and I decided to go to Jack Road this noon and ended up buying a 116713LN! Why? It was offered at US$9,390 credit card price! To me it is a better value than the BLNR. What do you guys think? |
