Moisture Damage/RSC

Recently I sent my 42-yr old 1680/8 to the RSC in Dallas for its first service. The service estimate indicated "Dial and hands moisture damaged" but there was no mention of corrosion to any of the components. It would seem reasonable to me that RSC technicians would have noted corrosion if any existed. I presume that the technicians disassemble the watches in for service to the extent that any corrosion would be obvious. The watch is being serviced currently.

Anyone have any experience with anything similar?
