16610 came back from a full overhaul.
I noticed there was the typical "whirring" noise indicating a worn axle so it was finally time for a service. I wanted it serviced quick so the rotor or other parts wouldn't be damaged. I had been wearing for 10 years with no service so it was telling me the time had come.
I had seen some other members negative experiences with RSC's so I decided to use my local AD that has an in-house Rolex watchmaker. He is excellent and turn around was only 2.5 weeks from a man thats been doing this work for 3 decades. At first I debated getting my Sub polished but I figured just this once. It had tons of deep scratched and marks from hard use but I must say it looks new. I finally decided to put on the Preik caseback too. The AD wouldn't do that for me but it was easily done myself. Not sure if I am going to keep it or not but I do like the look of the caliber. Although some say the Rolex movements aren't finished to an attractive level I rather like the circular graining and other polishing. IMO it would only need some heat treated screws to really set it off. Looks to me gaining about 2 seconds a day. Overall I am extremely pleased and lucky to have such an amazing watchmaker at my disposal. A++ Slow-mo. of the hairspring.
