secret to 300+ amplitude?

Not sure why but we regularly get 270-290 amplitude but rarely see 300+.

Details of what we are using:

Varimatic on approx 10 min cycles. 1 clean cycle 2 rinse cycles 10 min dryer cycle

9010
Hp1000
MR4
Tepa
RL1

Clean escape wheel through varimatic then coat in epicoat along with pallet. Run for 3 mins then apply RL1

clean all pivots with peg wood

insetting jewels soaked in one dip 2-3 mins (after in runs through varimatic while mounted to balance and main plate)

new mainsprings on all jobs

Demag and poise balance wheel when needed

What am I missing here? An experienced watchmaker suggested epicoat and insetting jewels and skip the 9010. Never tried this. Somehow doesn't sound right.
