Tudor Sub Find
I was trolling auction ads for military items and came across an auction to look at. As I was scrolling through the photos I saw a photo of what appeared to be a Tudor Sub with a nylon strap sitting on a old Rolex box. I looked back at the auction page and there was no mention of the watch. Figuring it was worth a shot I decided to attend the auction. Looking at the watch it turned out to be a 1968 7016 small rose with its 1969 dated guarantee, a 1969 Rolex sub booklet, Rolex box, and also a 1960s guarantee to another watch. Talking to the Auctioneer it turns out that the watch belonged to him and he found it in a building he purchased 35 years ago. He wore it for several years then stopped wearing it and put it away, and finally decided to sell it. The watch was in decent condition so I bid on it. The first photo is what it looked like when I got it home the rest of them are after a quick cleaning and a little Polywatch. Bezel still has the crud under it making it stick but I might leave that for when I take it for service.
