Sub C sizing?

I'm thinking of having my wife pickup a Sub C for me when she comes back to the U.S. from Japan late this month. The USD to Yen is good and i expect it to be even better in the following weeks. Anyways, I want her to pick it up there and I wanted to have it sized when she got it. I'm curious to know how many links should I take off for my wrist? And which side should they be taken off from? I'll tell my wife the information and then they will size it there so when she comes back it'll be ready to wear! A 6 1/2 inch is snug but not overly squeezing and 7 is a little loose.
