Showdown - "Batman" vs "Hulk" vs "Kermit"
Hi all, I am pretty new to the forum and am looking at purchasing my first rolex. I've narrowed it down to 3 models. The 16610lv "Kermit", the 116610lv "Hulk" and the 116710blnr "Batman". I am hoping to get some feedback on which watch others prefer and why. Have any of you been torn between these? How was your experience? Right now I'm leaning towards the Batman as I love the black/blue dial and feel that it is a pretty flexible watch when compared to say the all green hulk, I also really like the green and black color scheme on the Kermit and the pre-ceramic dial, but I'm not a big fan of the bracelet as it does feel a little flimsy for such an expensive watch.
Another thought on these is there is a guy down the street who has both a brand new BLNR and a pre-owned Kermit in stock. Are the BLNR's currently going for over retail BNIB? He wants $9k which seems a tad high, but I've also seen them going pre-owned for between $8k and $9k so for the few extra hundred it seems like it may be worth going with the new. Here's where it gets a little trickier, for $2k less I can get the Kermit, which IMHO I believe is the better buy financially as in the long run I think the 50th anniversary will hold its value better and may even appreciate, while I see the Batman as possibly being more of a fad and the the current high prices will come back to earth especially if a new SS Pepsi or Coke is released. What do you guys think? |
