It ha been a long time since I said this!! INCOMING!!
Real long story short. Wanted the Rhodium. Went to an AD and two grey dealers. AD didn't have one but quoted me ¥ 578,000 before tax. One grey 573,000 before tax with wiggle room but they didn't have one country wide. Another grey had one at 540,000 Yen but it was sold..
Killing time while waiting to meet a friend for dinner. I've got about a half an hour to kill. What the heck I'll check out "Bic Camera" an electronics store that has a limited grey Rolex area. What do I see!? A new in box purple 39 mm Oyster Perpetual for ... ready for this!? Before tax 449,800 Yen!! $3836 on my US dollar credit card! Whip out my card!! He asks for my passport to have the 8% tax waved. I tell him I live here and that I'm happy to pay the tax. Which I am. Taxes are ¥ 35,984. Which comes to $306. Total for a NIB 39 OP. $4142. I couldn't say no!! So I'll apologize in advance for any crooked pictures. But without further adoooooo.. |
