Omega Speedmaster Professional Chronograph 145.022-76 Cal. 861
Chances are you know the story behind what is arguably the most important and historically significant watch of all time. Luckily for enthusiasts, it's also quite easy on the eyes. A balanced tricompax layout, simple black and white color scheme, large hour plots and contrasting hands have made the watch not only a space travel icon but a design icon as well. Omega knows a good thing when they see it which is why the Speedmaster has gone largely unchanged since its 1957 inception.
The vintage models have seen a well deserved surge in popularity in recent years and supplies continue to dwindle as demand for this iconic watch continues to skyrocket. What we've got here is a solid, ready to rock vintage example that makes a great wearer. It's got great patina on the dial and the original bezel, which has a subtle charcoal colored fade. Be sure to check out the photos and our condition rundown below for all the details. Case: 42mm case in good vintage condition. The case shows signs of being previously polished as pictured, as well as some dings and nicks commesurate with age. Bezel: Original tachymetre bezel in very good condition with mostly intact paint. The bezel shows a subtle charcoal fade. Dial/Hands: Original dial with great patina on the hour markers. There is a very small mark in the hour totalizer subdial as pictured. The hour and minute hands are original tritium, and the hour hand has a small missing area of luminous material. The chronograph seconds hand is a modern luminova replacement. Caseback: Original moonwatch caseback in very good condition with only minor wear. The paint in the moonwatch inscription is mostly intact. Crystal: Very good condition OEM Omega hesalite crystal with no major scratching, chips, cracks, or marks. Omega symbol in the center. Movement: Caliber 861 movement in excellent condition. Movement is very clean and all functions work as they should, with the chronograph starting, stopping, and resetting to zero as expected. Movement is keeping good time. Service history is unknown. The movement serial number is 39.1M indicating production circa 1977. Bracelet/Strap: A like new vintage style brown leather strap is included. Accessories: None. Sold as watch only. Price is $2950 shipped CONUS via PayPal or wire (3% discount for wire). US sale preferred, international sales will pay the cost of shipping. Face to face in the Boston area also welcome. I have many references available. Please feel free to ask any questions. Thanks for looking! |
