Yet another newbie!

A quick intro before a barrage of daft questions to you experts.

Me: 62, retired engineer living in Derbyshire, UK

Watch: GMT (16700) which I bought new in January 1997. Doesn't time fly!?
I chose the GMT as I then did a lot of multi time zone travel.

I am glad to have found you chaps and I look forward to some of your future guidance, opinions, comments.
To summarise I am trying to decide whether to have my GMT serviced (by Rolex..?) and keep it (with its now unused functions), or exchange it for a " simpler" model (I favour the basic explorer).

Of course, having read some of the posts on hear I am now considering just getting another anyway and keeping my old GMT as well...

Best wishes everyone.
