I'm in the same boat. I'd happily pay retail for one right now but I dont appreciate being messed about by ADs, and this type of sales practice really puts me off any brand that does it. Seeing the flood of them on the grey market just annoys me further - its easy to get one as long as you're willing to pay a sizeable premium.

Oh well, I'll vote with my wallet and keep buying older 5 and 4 digit models since I prefer those anyway. The ceramic daytona is probably the only modern rolex I'd buy for retail. Their business - they can do what they like. And I'll just take my money elsewhere.
