GMT and Speedy on my Honeymoon to St. Maarten
I just got back on Saturday from my Honeymoon with my lovely wife from St. Maarten in the Caribbean. We were married on April 7th and hopped on a flight early Saturday morning arriving on April 8th. Part of my wedding gift from my wife was a new Speedmaster Professional Hesalite that I wore for the wedding. Originally I had planned on only bringing my 16710 GMT for the trip as I thought the dual time zones and 100M water resistance would be perfect. I was going to leave the Speedy at home but couldn't part with it for over a week after just getting it so I took along both for our trip. The 16710 was perfect for the beach and the light snorkeling/swimming we did. I wish I would have bought an underwater camera as the snorkeling was beautiful and my ghetto 2 plastic bags over my iphone solution didn't work as the camera couldn't focus . We did a boat tour that took as around the Island and a stop at Anguilla where we had lunch on the best beach I've ever been at with perfect white powder sand.
I mainly wore the GMT but busted the Speedy out for some dinners at night. I saw mainly sports watches being worn by people down in St. Maarten. I must have seen 4-5 submariners including a couple at the beach where the wife was sporting a No Date SubC and the husband an older 5 digit Sub Date. A saw a 5 digit black bezel GMT on a gentleman at our hotel and I wanted to strike up a conversation but chickened out. Around the beaches I also saw 2 orange bezel Planet Oceans that looked perfect on the beach. My wife and I had an amazing time and we couldn't be more blessed to start off our marriage together in such a beautiful spot. Here are some pics! |
