Sophisticated Stella scammer on ebay

I am a bit mortified at how bold some scammers are becoming.

Beautiful orange stella 1803 - clean, multiple pictures, intelligent description. Long time ebay member, but not much in terms of watches. Auction listing - 7 days long.

I sent one email - asking about details - vague, but responded - also said it was terrible about the amount of fake sellers.

Day three: after decent bidding, note went up saying seller was open to offers. Hmmm... i thought. second email went un-answered.

36 hours before end - price up to ~$8/9K (reasonable 2 days before end) - auction ended with "error in listing" excuse.

5 days later - I get a note from ebay - saying the account was stolen from the original user.

I'm guessing someone is out of some $$$.
