Where are you guys from/whom do you hang out with that this is appropriate behavior? Sure, if I had genuine interest in something I would talk to them perhaps about how they like it, etc....but I would never walk around asking people where they purchased stuff, how much it costs, etc. Just seems incredibly odd to me.
