Last of the White Dials enters the fold.
I've been meaning to add a white dial to my collection for some time.
I originally thought it might come in the shape of an Explorer 2, and whilst the polar explorer is a beautiful reference, the black painted hands just didn't sing to me. I always knew if it wasn't going to be a Polar Explorer then it had to be a DJ2. I had intended to wait a while and pick one up pre-loved, but a deal came up on what I think is probably the last BNIB unworn example here in the U.K. With a brief discussion on price, and being a previous customer a deal was struck, and happily today it arrived in the post. I have never seen one of these in the flesh until today and have to say how happy I am with how it looks. In pics of this watch I was worried it may have come across as bland, but no such thing. The baton markers add a depth to the face which is only seen with the eye, making it a truly beautiful watch. The DJ2 has always been a favourite of mine and soon we won't see any unworn examples coming to the forum on the incoming threads. This now scratches the white dial itch I've had for some time, and it will be in good company with its other DJ2 brothers in the collection. |
