Personally, I'd be astonished if the current economy doesn't impact Rolex sales. It's not just resources that lead to a sale, it's also one's attitude.
This is a rather serious situation brewing. We have some well-deserved "tough love" coming. I see consumerism dying up at all levels. Take a look at dire forecast for Christmas sales and the huge plunge in consumer product stocks. Didn't take me long this week to come to the conclusion that I need another watch like I need a hole in the head. That's a sentiment arrived at totally independent of resources available. Yea, I know rich guy x doesn't care ... But think of the buying demographic for Rolex, it's a good hunk of the middle and upper-middle classes that will probably tend to keep more cash around --- just in case. I mean when you get right down to it --it's a watch. |
