Invalidated insurance cover

Hi ... I am a newbie ... So please be gentle! I have a Oyster Perpetual day date, and swooped the removable bezel from the Rolex original to a compatable diamond bezel, which I purchased from the same retailer as my watch. Now 15 years later, Rolex servicing are refusing to repair damage to the bracelet as my watch has been "modified" .... It's a screw off bezel, which is designed to allow you to accessorise your watch... I can't believe that this is correct .... Has any one else experienced this, or have any suggestions to help, or can you advise me how to complain directly to Rolex. Thanks for any advice.
