Exciting raffle event at local AD: Daytona / Skydweller / SD43 (with pictures)

This evening I attended a Rolex Daytona Exhibition event at our local AD. Arrived around 6:15 and left around 8 ish after the raffles ended. I missed the opportunity to win one of the raffles by one digit. :)

The AD had fIve Daytona-Cs, two SS Skydwellers (blue and black, both gorgeous), two TT Skydwellers (champagne dial and black dial), one SD43 in store and two more SD43s coming in that they were raffling.

Needless to say a lot of excitement around the room and lucky ones walked away with sweet watches. (there is another thread by one of the lucky winners.)

I was hoping to win a Sea dweller. Well, wanted and didn’t want to at the same time. My wife wasn’t involved and a surprise unplanned purchase of such value in her absence wouldn’t have been cool.

At arrival I ran into another enthusiast that works in our company. We have run into each other in elevators at work a few times and he had noticed and made comments about my LV. Anyway, The two of us hung out for the duration of event. One cool thing that happened was that some guy who won the third (incoming) seadweller was standing next to us and said he didn’t want the ticket once his ticket number was announced as a winner. At first I thought he was joking but the coworker of mine standing next to me asked to receive the ticket and ended up getting the ticket and getting the watch. Very nice of the guy to pass on his winning ticket and good for my coworker. I did not act quickly and lost the chance but all is good. (well, given the above explanation I wasn’t 100% up for It anyway).

Let me say this: if I had won any of the Skydwellers, it would have been passed on to one of the forum members here who had mentioned to me in the past that he was looking for a SS Skydweller. I would have passed it to him at the purchase price since , while beautiful, it is not a watch of my preference at this time. If I had won the Daytona C I would have probably kept it.

I took some picture of the event that I will share below, including one from my personal BLNR next to the WatchTime magazine participants received in a goody bag.

Great team working at this AD, I have bought a few watches and other jewelry there since back in 2000. Tonight they went out of their way to have a great event and deserve a big

The SD43 that I was kinda hoping to win!

Tried on this beauty as well. Mixed feelings about the diamonds, but that dial is to die for.
