Why does Rolex attend Basel?

They are by a wide margin the most prestigious watch manufacture in Switzerland. Rolex was awarded the best reputation of any company by an independent firm this year, not just for watch companies but ANY company. They beat out Disney for example.

So why not have an annual Apple style event instead that really focuses on their technology and innovation instead of a few quick pics from an otherwise mediocre watch fair?

That “mediocre watch fair” happens to be one of, if not the most, well done watch shows in the world, which showcases some of the most prestigious luxury watch brands and jewelry from around the world as well. Rolex is one my most favorited brands, but they aren’t even close to the best or most prestigious - and that’s a fact - not an opinion.
