41mm Day Date II....good idea gone bad??!!
I consider the Rolex President DayDate the pinnacle of Rolex, and carries with it decades of tradition, and a rich history. Many of us aspire to one day owe the most valuable watch in the Rolex collection. We oftentimes look up to business and community leaders that own these watches.
I was a strong supporter of upsizing the SPORT models, and I like where Rolex is going with the likes of the Milgauss, GMT, and Deep Sea Dweller. What WHAT was Rolex thinking with the new upsided Day Date????? I have seen them now, in several different varieties, and they all look equally aweful. The fluted bezel is far to large and flat, and the crystal sits nearly flush wth the bezel. Obviously, everything had to get bigger with the new bigger watch, but I feel like they got the proportions all wrong, and made the watch TOOOO big. I think a mild bump to 39mm would have sufficed. Does anyone else find the new upsized President a little odd??? |
