'Downgrading' from a GMT to an Explorer?
I currently own a Pepsi GMT 16700 but feel it's a bit similar to my 16610 Sub. Between the two of them I prefer the Sub. I was thinking of selling/trading the GMT for a 114270 Explorer to diversify a bit. Is this a dumb move? Would the Explorer plus $3000 be about right in terms of what I should be looking for if neither has box or papers?
I've tried on the Explorer and it feels small even on my 6.5" wrists but that could be because I'm not used to wearing something so small. That's really my only concern. On a side note, I am also trading back with a friend for my old Speedy that I had originally purchased new about 5 years ago. I'm aware this would be the most cliche collection ever with a Sub, Explorer, and Speedy. I'd eventually like to add a Reverso as a dress watch. It's funny that I've gone through dozens and dozens of watches but have eventually come back to the classics. They may be boring but I love their versatility and they work great for my business casual lifestyle. I could have saved a lot of time and money had I just stuck with the classics in the first place. But I guess I needed to make the journey for myself to get to this point and not have that doubt in the back of my mind. |
