Why did you buy a Rolex?

I am curious to hear stories about why you have your Rolex(s)?

I never would’ve imagined owning a Rolex even as soon as two years ago. It just wasn’t my thing. I fell into Rolex because wife asked if I wanted wear her deceased father's 34mm timepiece from the early 70s. I wore it and began to love it. I loved how it was passed on from within the family. I continued to realize how special the Rolex was, but decided it belonged on my wife’s wrist, not mine. It came from her father and she deserved to wear it. A year ago I purchased a DJ41 and I love it. I will never sell/trade my Rolex, that’s not why I purchased it. My watch will go to my son. I am 43 and as I get older I see the value to enjoying and eventually passing on jewelry and art to family. Along with photos, those are two things that can stay in families forever.

I now have the itch to purchase a Sub date! I will alternate wearing my DJ41 and Sub.

So in summary, I love Rolex because it is something special I can pass along to my family.
