Next Watch: Thinking Out Loud..
This is my current Rolex lineup. I love them all. The Sub sits in my safe virtually pristine, though, since I picked up my SD43 right after I got the Sub. I've been considering selling it for some time, but its tough to let it go for some reason. I'll wear it around the house occasionally and really think it looks sharp, but since I know I'll likely sell or trade it at some point, back into the safe it goes so I don't ding or scratch it.
Anyway, I've been looking at adding something that is different from what I currently have. I'd like it to be somewhat versatile, but more than anything I'd want it to pair well with a sportcoat and/or suit. Soon I'll be starting a new job that I consider to be a significant achievement, and I want a watch to mark the occasion. The Daytona and BLNR have served as my "dressy" watches thus far, and I think they do well in that role for me and my personal style. Wanting a new watch, though, has me questioning what I truly want. I've been strongly considering the Speedy FOIS of late and think that would be a really great addition. I passed my Speedy Pro to my son a few years ago and miss it. I'd pick up another, but since I already have had one I don't want to do a repeat. Thats why the FOIS is so appealing: great "vintagey" vibe and the fact that it looks great on leather. Just something a bit different. I've tried on a few DJs and wanted to like them, but they are simply too conservative for my style. I'm looking for something one might consider to be a dressy sport watch (if that makes any sense). Thats how I think of my Daytona and BLNR anyway. Well, enter the LB...I've tried it on and think it looks pretty sharp, and I like that its colors are different and that its a TT. If I did go with the LB, I'd almost certainly get rid of the Sub. Not really sure where I'm going with this post, but I'd be happy to hear any thoughts you might have. Cheers. |
