Video of thieves in action Barcelona.

Hard to call, but maybe could have been more aware what was about to happen? He was cautious from the start, wish he could have seen the guy getting closer out of the corner of his eye. These guys didn't seem like they would be too violent but took an easy opportunity? At least it's something to learn from.

Edit: THIS IS A VIDEO OF A VIDEO PLAYING ON ANOTHER SCREEN. That's why there is movement during the video. ;)
