Incoming.... and lug scratch
Hi there just got around to posting for the first time after acquiring my dream watch 114060 a few months ago. I have been reading daily and have learned so much from all of you. I have wore my watch everyday all day since I picked it up and I absolutely love it.
This weekend I had my first scratch and I knew it would happen eventually but I didn’t think it would be on the top of the lug! I had a pair of pants on with zippered pockets and believe when I put my hand in my pocket it caught the 5 o’clock lug. I am devastated as everytime I look down it’s the first thing my eyes are drawn towards. In daylight you can see it especially when the sun catches it. I don’t have much experience with metal so I don’t think I trust myself to use a scotch brite pad escpailly on the lug. I have read so many posts about lugs loosing their sharp edge with polishing and that’s the last thing I want to happen. I am within an hour drive of a RSC and I have called and they said to bring it in and they see what they can do. I am a bit hesitant as I don’t want to start making anything worse or losing symmetry by just fixing one lug. Any advice would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance for your time Sorry for the pictures. Not the best at photography. Feel free to show me your lug scratches to make me feel better. |
